What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is what empowers softwares, apps or a machine with the ability to provide accurate solutions, based on problem solving mechanisms, in response to the user input. This type of resource can be used by everyone for everything, AI are perfectly able to resolve countless tasks, like: write perfect speeches, college essays, compose music, program video games and so on.
It is based on the process of generalised learning, the way in which humans learn and understand a situation, and the process of reasoning that then lead to a solution or result; AI are collecting from different databases and resources that they need to work, analyse and combine them and give back an answer.
Is it Actually intelligent?
I don’t think it’ll be correct to define AI as intelligent; the AI itself is not capable of proper thinking and reasoning, it’s just able to follow task that are assigned but it lacks of the ability of independent thinking: the input from the user it’s processed and the AI can understand what you are asking for give an output back, but the informations that it is using are already part of the web, so it will never create something new.
Even tho the artificial intelligence is able to generate something only from data that already exists, it doesn’t mean that it cannot represent a first hint for the creation of something new and original; combining this extraordinary tool with the human best attributes, his mind and his critical thinking, the outcomes together will be even better than the two of them separately.
What are your thoughts on the coming revolution?
I would say that it really represent a revolution, but as every tool it has to be used ethically: we have to understand first where do we collocate the line between when it is fair and correct to use this artificial intelligence and when it’s not.
